The impact of rising gas prices on our wallets is another tangible reminder that fossil fuels are a finite resource.
The impact of rising gas prices on our wallets is another tangible reminder that fossil fuels are a finite resource. At the same time, the desire to remain mobile in modern society remains a top priority.
Therefore it is understandable why calls for alternative concepts like hybrid and electric cars are becoming louder and louder.
Panasonic Electric Works will soon release a 200A EV relay, which follows the trend to more powerful electric drive trains. It closes the gap between the 120A and 300A types. The 200A relay can carry 200A continuously or 300A for 15 minutes. Of course higher peak currents (= acceleration of vehicle) for a few minutes or seconds are possible much beyond 200A. This means many sport cars and light commercial vehicles can be realized with this main contactor.
The 200A EV is built upon the proven design and continuously developed EV relay family. Its contacts are integrated in a hermetically sealed ceramic chamber. The chambers superior mechanical stability increases the system safety even in the event of a malfunction. This relay also offers an improved cut-off current capability, making it ideal for the newest generation of lithium-ion battery technology.
