Radio and high-frequency amplifying technology almost always forms the basis of our modern communication facilities.

Radio and high-frequency amplifying technology almost always forms the basis of our modern communication facilities. Mobile phones would be unthinkable without them.

As a general rule, large, heavy and expensive SMA coaxial relays have been used to switch large high-frequency loads. Now with its new RN series relay, Panasonic Electric Works offers a modern alternative.

Besides compact dimensions of just 14.6 x 9.6 x 10.0mm³ (L x W x H), this relay is available as a surface-mount terminal (SMT) and features a nominal switching capacity of 80W at 2GHz and maximum contact carrying power of 150W. With a 1 Form C contact arrangement and at a coil resistance of 50, the relay can switch frequencies up to 8GHz with an isolation of at least 30dB, a maximum V.S.W.R. of 1.3 and an insertion loss of no more than 0.3dB.

Besides the single-side stable contact arrangement, 2 coil latching types are available in the customary intervals for coil voltage of 4.5V, 12V and 24V. Additional reversed contact types allow for even more flexibility when designing circuit boards.
