As today is “Earth Day” it feels like the right moment to reflect on the environmental considerations that shape our approach and responsibilities here at Diamond Electronics.
At Diamond Electronics, we are dedicated to improving our environmental performance and reducing our impact on the world around us. We believe responsible environmental management is not only the right thing to do, but an essential part of building a sustainable and resilient business for the future.
To support this commitment, Diamond Electronics operates in accordance with ISO 14001, the internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS). This framework ensures that our environmental responsibilities are managed in a structured, credible and continually improving way, fully integrated into our day‑to‑day operations.
Our ISO 14001 certification demonstrates that Diamond Electronics has established, implemented, maintains and continually improves an effective Environmental Management System. This helps us to identify, manage and reduce our environmental impacts while ensuring full compliance with environmental legislation and best practice.
Through ISO 14001, environmental management is embedded into everyday business processes, decision‑making and long‑term planning across the organisation.
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we have made tangible investments to reduce our environmental footprint:
· Solar panels installed on our premises, enabling us to generate renewable energy and reduce reliance on fossil fuels
· Transition of our company vehicle fleet to hybrid cars, cutting emissions and improving fuel efficiency
· Ongoing initiatives to reduce energy usage, minimise waste and increase recycling
These actions reflect our belief that environmental responsibility requires practical action as well as strong governance.
We actively identify and manage the environmental aspects and impacts associated with our activities, products and services. This includes consideration of:
· Energy and water usage
· Waste generation and recycling
· Emissions to air, land and water
· Use of raw materials
· Noise, pollution and potential impacts on biodiversity
By understanding where our greatest impacts occur, we can prioritise improvements and focus resources where they make the biggest difference.
Our recycling scheme allows us to re-use component packaging, like reels and tubes, from our customers, preventing the need for new packaging materials to be purchased. Our outer packaging and filling materials are all re-used from our suppliers, creating a fully integrated packaging supply chain, reducing our impact on the environment, and reducing waste.
Diamond Electronics remains fully committed to meeting all relevant environmental laws and regulations. We continuously monitor compliance requirements and demonstrate adherence through regular audits and reviews.
Our approach also includes:
· Assessing environmental risks such as pollution incidents or supply‑chain impacts
· Identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction
· Applying a life‑cycle perspective where appropriate to improve environmental outcomes
Environmental responsibility is shared across the organisation. We ensure our employees understand their environmental responsibilities and provide training where environmental risks exist. Awareness is promoted at all levels to support consistent, responsible behaviour.
Environmental performance is monitored through key performance indicators, internal audits and management reviews, ensuring continual improvement rather than one‑off compliance.
At Diamond Electronics, sustainability is a journey. Through ISO 14001 certification, renewable energy investment, cleaner transport and continuous improvement, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact today while creating a more sustainable future for tomorrow.
