Electronic component kitting plays important role in maintaining both IPC and RoHS compliance, as it creates a controlled, traceable process for managing components before they reach production.

Fragmented assembly occurs when the assembly of PCB’s occurs through multiple unconnected partners. While it can carry flexibility and cost advantages this carries hidden risks beyond those seen in delays to manufacturing. 

One of the biggest headaches which can plague OEM’s is scaling production when required. Flexibility can be hard to come by if there is a sudden increase in demand, and production can struggle to keep up. Component leadtimes can go out, as stocking of parts is based on forecasted demands.  Kitting provides a solution to these production problems.
